A four day summer workshop creating, rehearsing and performing in a band for 7-16 year old from beginners to experienced players
The Experience
The four day summer workshop is designed for players of all abilities and experience levels. You can play guitar, keyboard, bass, drums and vocals and you will be placed in a group based on instrument choice and proficiency. This is so you are in a band that you can play with and groups are not based on age.
Woodshed Music School students who are already in a Kids Rock group can remain in this group but you must indicate this on application.
External applicants will be placed in groups before the workshop. Please indicate your experience on application to help us allocate your place.
Once you have secured a place you will be sent a pack of materials and some suggestions of what to bring. Each group will learn 3 songs and will also write their own song. All music will be geared towards your playing level (beginner to advanced). There is no expectation to prepare unless you have the experience level to independently practice the songs provided. If you are a beginner, you can listen to the songs to become familiar.
During the first three days you will split off into your rehearsal areas. You will be allocated an experienced tutor who will lead you through learning your band songs. The intensive rehearsal sessions are structured and will involve spending time on:

Album Recording
On the final day there will be a sitzprobe for each band and meetings with sound and lighting engineers, video crew and photographer. Each band will rehearse on stage and and have a technical rehearsal. After a short break the doors wil open for the final performance.

Terms and conditions:
A deposit of £50 (non-refundable) is required on registration.
The balance is due no later than 15th July 2019.
Places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Band places are allocated according to proficiency level and instrument choice.
